Outfit of the day - Rockabilly Silly

It's a casual day so what better day to Rosie it up with a Rockabilly must have, the bandana. I put my hair in a pony tail and wrapped the remaining hair up into elevated pin curls for a funky up do look. I added a little swirl at the front for a bit of something different.

I'm  always running errands or visiting family and friends on my free days so most of the time heels are just not practical. I adore these cute Mary Janes, I haven't taken them off since I bought them, they are so comfy and cute!

 Plain t-shirt - H&M
Red cardigan - H&M
Leggings - Next
Shorts - Primark
Shoes - Tesco (can you believe it!!)
Bracelets - Thrifted
Bandana - Local market
This bracelet is one of my latest charity shop finds. It's a modern piece but I love it so much.

Hope you have a great day!

Manchester Vintage Fair - Tips for Vintage Shopping

Building up to the Manchester Vintage Fair on 5th of May, I have been busy making a 50s dress from a vintage pattern. This isn't the first time i have made this pattern, however making things out of cotton can (and has been) a nightmare!! I will write a separate post on the dress in all its glory, later.
So the fair is coming up and i have been trying to make a plan and have a clear view of what i am aiming to get there. I have found whenever you are going thrifting or to any type of fair it's a good idea to have a clear(ish) idea of what you want. There are so many wonderful things sometimes that your budget just wont stretch and then you might walk away disappointed that you had to leave something behind that you love; (trust me this has happened a lot!)

Here are my tips for vintage shopping:

Have a clear budget: if your anything like me you will want to take everything and anything home!

Check you sizing: measure yourself before you go and make sure you carry a tape measure with you. There is nothing worse than coming home with something that wont fit; and remember not all garments are easy to take in!

Know what you are going for: now this doesn't necessarily mean that you only buy what you went for, because lets face it sometimes you find something that's just too good not to get! What i suggest is to have a focus; maybe your wardrobe could benefit from a few more dresses or you really want some nice cardigans to go complete your outfits, perhaps its those all important accessories you are after.

Now your all set and ready to hit the shops!

I will keep you posted on my adventures at the Manchester vintage fair!
